“The mounds were close now. Fireflies and sprites danced upon the hills to the chants from beneath the earth.
“Their specters are awaiting you my fellow wanderer! We have such things to show you, you would not believe it! Mourning yet grateful are all those who enter here, so should you.”
My eyes beheld a thing hanging in the trees above me. A blue glimmer came from its outlined body, while a crown placed upon his rotten head decorated and gave a sense of kingly glamour to his decomposed corpse. A noose tightly wrapped around his neck shone as bright as a royal necklace refined with diamonds from the deepest bowels of the earth.
As the king raised his bony claws towards the moonlit skies, cold flames arose from his translucent crown.
“Move north, move now. More company than you´ve ever dreamed of, merrier lives than you´ve ever wished for… all lies within hand´s reach.
Mind the gap, climb to the top, you´re on the right path now my dear….”
I wished that I´d never stepped through that gate, never crossed the threshold. Now all that was ahead was my duty to fulfill. The journey to take, the mountain to climb. With a heavy heart I crossed the field of the dead and climbed up the ruinous hillside. Upon its top a tower gleamed with purple shine, touching the moon above the very peak.”
A lot of these synth based genres that have been popping up in Metal subculture has been unique to say the least, however not many of the projects seem to do their subgenres justice in creating a truly good sound that isn't just a cute gimmick. This is one of the few times, where I feel some songwriting chops exist. The atmosphere created evokes the soundtracks from gritty 80s Fantasy movies. 3.5/5 ClassyMusicSnob
